Calvin VanWormer was a Computer Engineering master’s student at the University of Central Florida, graduating in Spring 2026. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wyoming in Spring 2024. His academic specialization was in computer networks and cybersecurity.
Calvin worked on his thesis research, which focused on implementing the CHIRP communication protocol through distributed networking and device synchronization within an ultra-lightweight IoT network. In addition, he contributed to the development of a distributed server architecture designed to support an AI-based penetration testing assistant for the lab.
Outside of his academic and research pursuits, He enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly hiking, biking, and skiing.
